Sta arrivando! sta arrivando! sembra ormai che manchino poche ore all'arrivo della grande neve le previsioni parlano di una nevicata che rimarrà nella memoria di tutti. Noi impazienti di vederla la scorsa settimana in una splendida giornata di sole abbiamo fatto 30 min. di macchina e siamo arrivati in località Piana delle Mele sui monti della Maiella.
Ricordate dopo le nevicata c'è sempre il sereno...anche perchè mica ci vogliamo far mancare i ricami del ghiaccio?
It's coming! is coming! now sems to be missing a few hours the arrival of the big snow forecasts speak of a snowfall that remains in the memory of all. We look forward to seeing her last week in a beautiful sunny day we did 30 min by car and arrived in the area of the Plain of Apples in the Maiella mountains. Remember after the snowfall is always the calm...also because we want to miss the embroidery of ice?

E sì questo è l'Abruzzo i monti ed il mare si guardano appassionatamente.

Al ritorno abbiamo fatto una breve sosta nella splendida cittadina di Guardiagrele nonostante il sole il freddo era talmente pungente che passati 10 minuti non potevo tenere più la macchinetta in mano si congelavano!!
On the way back we made a brief stop in the beautiful town of Guardiagrele though the sun was bitter cold, after 10 minutes I could not keep the machine at hand froze!
Abbiamo trovato un caldo ristoro nella dolcissima antica pasticceria "Palmerio".
"Ogni Amarezza questa Dolcezza Vince"
è scritto sulla bacheca porta caramelle e non c'è frase più indovinata per un luogo come questo ed è un vero peccato che non possiate sentire il dolce profumo di vaniglia, zucchero e mandorle che proviene dal laboratorio, un vero scrigno di tradizione abruzzese.
We found a warm place in the old sweet pastry "Palmerio". "All bitterness these sweetness won" is written on the board bringscandy and there's no more right word for a place like this whre you can smell the scent of vanilla, sugar and almond that comes from the workshop, real treasures of Abruzzo tradition.
Impossibile non tornare a casa con altri bottini culinari, ricotta, stracciata e giuncata dell'azienda agricola Verna e pane casareccio di Guardiagrele. Ma altre meraviglie ci sono da scoprire in questo piccolo gioiello d'Abruzzo spero di poterci tornare in una stagione più mite per raccontarvi della tradizione orafa e di altre prelibatezze.
Unable to return with other culinary bounty, ricotta, stracciata and giuncata from Verna Farm in Guardiagrele and homemade bread. But there are other wonders to be discovered in this little gem of Abruzzo I hope we can return to a milder season to tell the goldsmith tradition and other delicacies.
